Any tips on Triumph GT6 head removal? by Anthony Caira
Hi all Have had problems with overheating on my '73 GT6. Done all the usual - new hoses - flushed block and rad, new rad, Kenlowe, new stat hoses but still overheating. Oil is clean - no soap - but RAC man last night says bubbles coming up in rad filler really say head gasket is gone. I tend to agree as also got oil all over rear of engine - so bad that has streaked out of wheel arch down side...

Q: Sites of kitted SD1's by RayL
Hi peeps, Having owned a SD1 at one time I took an interest in the car in custom kit form. Apart from my own car of the time _no pics available :-( _ and a couple of publication shots I never ever really saw any. Does anyone know if a Website exists that I can visit to see such? I have tried one or two Rover sites but with no luck.

Where to look for a classic... by Jeremy
Hi I'm on the lookout for a Spitfire or a Midget (pref Spit) in the Hants/Surrey/Berks/S London area. Want something in Class 2/1 condition. I am using the following sources: 1) Classic Car Weekly (paper - is there a web site with its classified ads on?) 2) Autotrader.co.uk - set-up vehicle alerts 3) eBay (can you set-up e-mail alerts there - haven't noticed the feature?) 4) Loot (though have...

May be looking at a Mk IV Spitfire 1300 later this week - the seller says that there is a problem with the doors - "close fine but need some adjustment" - spoke to the seller on the phone and he says that the car was stripped back to chassis and rebuilt etc and says the problem with the doors is that the door pins need replacing which he just didn't get around to doing - does this sound...

Balancing twin SU carbs by Andrew Mawson
Balancing the twin SU carbs on my vehicle (A/H BJ8) is a pain as removing the air filters to either use the 'tube to ear' method or a proper air flow meter also requires removing float chamber tops to get at the bolts, which also mount the choke cables etc. - quite a palaver. There used to be a gizmo comprising a thin walled aluminium tube and some bent bits of wire that let you effectively...

Rules on emission tests for MOTs by Andrew Mawson
Are 1960's cars subject to an emissions test for the MOT and if so what is the CO limit? I found this link: http://www.ukmot.com/manual/6-4.htm which seems to imply that they are only subject to a visual test for smoke - is this the case? Andrew Mawson
