Was Cumberland green one of the available colours for Morris Minor 1000s? by Mike Mitchell
My dad's first car was a Morris Minor 1000, bought brand-new in 1963 and it was green. I have a feeling the colour was known as Cumberland green. Anyone care to confirm that? MM

Another number transfer question. by Peter Hill
I have a 'not transferable' number VETnnnH, I assume this came from the car having a personal plate when new and this number was allocated when that number was transferred on to something else. If I got a personal plate transferred to it, would I be able to get the VETnnnH number back when I transferred my number on, or would they issue yet another age related number? Shame I'm not a vet and...

Hi, I'm here for all of you Imp haters to give me some sh!t. I can take because I know that you're all wrong and the Imp was the best car ever made and knocked spots off the Mini. All those Imp lovers here give me a big "Hi" so that I know who's on my side :) Take care all. Paul.

Spitfire 1500 ignition siwtch problem? by Jeremy
Hi there, recently acquired a Spitfire 1500 - only been driving it for the last week or so. Parked up in the garage last night, switched off the engine but noticed when I took out the keys that the red ignition light stayed lit. I put the key in, wiggled it around, started and stopped the engine, removed the key again but still the light remained illuminated. This morning, dead battery...

give me a big "Hi" so that I know who's on my side :) snip But OTOH I am a lover of Minis, especially the rarer derivatives such as Elfs, Clubbys; I want a 1275GT next! snip I owned and competed with both marques -- Imp handling was much superior and more enjoyable than the Mini. The Mini however would flatter the below average driver into looking better than his actual abilities,

bedford ca dormobile 1965 by Ronald van der Schalie
Hello, I am a VW enthousiast living in the Netherlands and driving a VW van build in 1968. It is called a T2a. Great van, love it very much. I recently had a call that someone tried to find somebody interested in a Bedford CA Dormobile 1965! It had been pushed out of a barn and was ready for the scrap-heap. Curious what it would be since i had never seen one i went with a friend and

Ashover Show by Autolycus
If any of you were thinking of heading for the wilds of Derbyshire for this Sunday's classic car show - it's been cancelled, for the first time in thirty-odd years. Apparently the ground conditions are dreadful. Shame - it's usually a pleasant, friendly show with an interesting autojumble (and a brass band, which always helps) Anything else happening in the Midlands this weekend (15th...

Help - Information on Chrysler Valiant Signet by Dennis Ray Anderson
"Jon Curtis" wrote in message ... I have a friends who is currently restoring a Chrysler Valiant Signet, we believe that it is of a 1960's origin and know that it was imported into the UK from South Africa around 10 years ago. Exhaust Manufacturer by Splashlube
Hi all Does anyone know of any good people who can make an exhaust for a Veteran car to pattern. Would prefer Swindon/Bristol area or 100 mile surround. An almighty backfire in Germany blew the back of the silencer to bits. A few Germans dived under their Mercedes wondering what was going on. TIA
