export to norway by oxymoron
Ive got an older Jag that a colleague of mine in Oslo has been lusting after for a while and I offered it to him this week for a modest couple of thou. Hes just checked up on the figures and reckons it would cost an additional seven THOUSAND to get it there, with import duties. Does anyone have any experience in this area? Can that horrifying level of duty be right?

XK engine expert wanted by Geoff Mackenzie
Can anybody recommend someone preferably in the Surrey/Sussex area who could do some work on my E-Type 4.2 Series 1? I'm looking for a personal recommendation, not just a list from the yellow pages and classic car advts - I already have those. Background - the engine was totally rebuilt (rebore, crank grind, head - everything) about 20,000 miles ago. It has been properly serviced and driven...

Legal Question - Conclusion by Pete W.
I posted a question here a few weeks ago regarding my attempt to purchase a car which has stood in a field for a few years. I was buying it from the guy who had bought it from the owner of the field, and A. N. Other had come forward saying, "That's my car!" Consensus was that Mr Other should claim against the owner of the field but he refused to do so. After a bit of tact and diplomacy, I have...

Two more questions for those who know vintage cars! by Mike Mitchell
Thanks, by the way, for all the feeback on prices. I now have another couple of holes in my information that need to be filled. When I was an apprentice motor mechanic in the 1960s the firm had a hearse which I had to wash and polish. It was a huge Packard with a straight eight side valve engine, absolutely massive, it was. The question: Roughly how long was it from front bumper to rear tailgate?...

Choosing a paint colour by Malcolm
I am trying to decide what colour to paint my car. So far I have made an outline drawing and experimented by infilling it with various colours using Picture Publisher. The trouble is the result is flat and not very helpful. I am sure I have come across a simple 3D type program somewhere that will give some light and shade effects. Can anyone recommend any software that will help. Malcolm

Triumph brochures for sale on EBay by MarvyMarvin
Hello all. I'm helping a retired friend sell off his collection of car brochures on Ebay. We are not a dealer, and these are all original. Many of these are historic in nature; those interested in graphic design or photography get a kick out of some of the more dated examples, too! Check out these examples of interest to Triumph lovers: 1977 Triumph TR7 sales...

Wolseley 4/44 Gear linkages by Davy
Please can anybody recommend someone who could adjust /repair the linkages of my 1955 Wolseley 4/44 column gear change. It was suggested to me that it might need the holes brazing up and re-drilled, if there were no parts available ?? I'm in Yorkshire so anyone local would be a bonus.-Thanks

Obtaining later LT77 gearboxes? by Michael Kilpatrick
Does anyone know of sources for LT77 gearboxes for the SD1 Vitesse? I really want to get my hands on another spare one, but they are getting increasingly hard to find in the Vitesse spec (28A prefix, D sufffix). I would like to understand better which other vehicles they were used in. Is it correct that some V8 Land Rovers or Range Rovers used the 28A version of the box, or not, before they...
