Cortina Mk2 flywheel specs by Mike
Can anyone point me in the direction of some dimensions for the standard flywheel on a Cortina Mk2 with 1600 crossflow engine? Background: my mate has one at his workshop, bought by the current owner with 'clutch problems' - the problem being that although the hydraulics appear correct (full travel, no air) the clutch won't disengage and gears are hard to come by. The clutch has been swapped...

Weber 32 DFT XR3 CVH fit - Electric choke by Andy Luckman (AJL Electronics)
Last year, I bought the proverbial Friday afternoon car that had also been bodged like you wouldn't believe. I bought it from someone in S****horpe via Ebay so didn't get a chance to inspect it first. Anyway, having dealt with most of the faults, I am having trouble with parts for this one: The electric choke unit uses a plastic cam which gives the correct fast idle setting. This has now broken...

Towing by Peter Sheppard
I have a 1964 Rover P4 that has been off the road for about 15 years. I would like to move it to a local garage. Can I tow it ("A" frame or rigid towbar) or do I have to trailer it? The reason I ask is that on "Scrappy Races" this evening, there were a couple of vehicles that were without MOT etc., that seemed to be towed (rather than trailered). TIA

Re-trimming interiors leather vs leathercloth by Darren Peters
I'm thinking about retrimming my interior seats and door cards and in looking for suppliers have noticed that there seems to be not such a difference in price between leather and leathercloth. Certainly there is a much bigger price discrepancy in the cost of a retrimmed leather and vinyl seat. Am I missing something here? I've found leather at between £10 and £15 per square metre (links...

Army Land Rover Blue Lights by brett@popstarz.org.uk
Hi, I've seen a number of old army land rovers at shows, like at beltring, etc with blue lights on, i would like to fit one to my old military land rover, but whats the position? it would be a "dummy" blue light, in so much as it wouldn't be wired into the vehicles electics, and therefore not able to flash, would i have to keep taking it off or cover it up when driving on the road? or is it ok as...

Talbot spares and bits or pieces by PORK SODA
I have a bit of a sad fixation with Talbot Sambas & Ranchos. Before I contemplate adding to my stable, do any of you know of any Talbot specialists in the UK for parts etc.? I know it's unlikely there'll be MG like levels of support but somewhere to source an odd panel or bit of trim would be super. -- Darrell 'Dimebag' Abbot 1966-2004

car keys by roger
My brother-in-law has a Minor 1000 (originally bought new by his father) but when he inherited it the only key was an unmarked one, and well worn at that. I have tried my collection of ancient keys and it is definitely a FS series. I even had a key that would work the ignition and passenger door locks but not those of the drivers door or boot. Are FS keys still readily available? I don't know...

Ignition lock barrel removal by Willy Eckerslyke
Any idea how to remove the ignition lock barrel from a BMW (1991 316)? Apologies for being slightly off topic, but you've never failed me before! This is the car I'm scrapping. I've been listing bits on Ebay where the world and its dog seems to be after the ignition lock. Trouble is, I can't figure out how to remove the damned thing. There's a small hole next to the keyhole. I've tried pushing...
