SD1 V8 Crankshaft pulley bolt by Liam Healy
Thsi is one of those posts that crop up weekly on the various car groups. I have a well seized Crankshaft pulley bolt, I have read the other advice elsewhere about budging it and will try the various things suggested (bar turning it over on the starter as its out of the car!). But I wanted to check that this bolt does unscrew anti-clockwise? Does anyone know?

Alternator Taxonomy by Liam Healy
Hi, I'm after a specific alternator - a Lucas A127 which is supposed be either 55 or 65 amp. I am finding a lot of alternators by other manufacturers called A127, sometimes they have higher outputs e.g. 70 amps. Would the dimensions of these be similar to the lucas ? is the A127 bit an industry standard designation?

TR7 BL workshop manual by Pete W
Has anyone got a BL workshop manual for the TR7? I don't want to buy or even borrow it, I just want to know if there is any info on dismantling and re-assembling the diff. I have a manual for the SD1 and want to check if the same info is in the TR7 version. It's for something I'm writing. But while I have your attention, does anyone out there know the part numbers of the two pinion bearings...

bringing car back to life???? by Robert Knowles
Hi folks, been advised to post here as you folks are used to bringing cars back to life! I've been to visit a friend whose car hasn't moved for 20 months apart from being rolled out of the garage and back again - cos it had a flat battery. She is unlikely to drive for another 6 months or so because of illness but wants to keep the car for when recovery makes driving possible again. New...

Want to swap a pre 73 classic for a 1993 Discovery? by puffernutter
Ok, it's a long shot. I have recently bought a Defender (I needed the space for my dogs) and my Discovery has become surplus to requirements. Rather than selling it directly, I was wondering if anyone had a pre 1973 classic (preferably an estate of some description) that they fancy swapping for the Disco. It should be something that I can put the dogs in and use as a run-a-round in town (e.g....

Radio repair? by Howard Rose
Hi, The Blaupunkt Frankfurt in my '66 has developed a rather annoying fault lately, so needs repair (or replacement). The radio works OK, but the volume control is not working as it should. On turning it, the music becomes very crackled with quite loud bursts through the speaker. FM is completely crackled and you can hardly hear the sound. Also if you find a decent audible station, then the...

Aston Martin DB6 by paulegg@gmail.com
Hi, I am posting this after seeing something that has completely baffled me, I have seen an Aston Martin DB6 for sale at an astonishing price. £3800. This has to be too good to be true. I am assuming this must be a typo, the car should be approx 10x that price in good condition, right? Here's the ad detail: ==========================

Loose Jag IRS Diff Bolts(?) by Jonathan
On my '84 XJ6 4.2 there's been quite a cluck when changing into reverse - so figuring this must be loose diff bolts I've taken out the IRS unit... The as removed, the diff doesn't seem very loose (although I'm only human strength and it hangs from them) - any advice would be appreciated as I might as well ask before removing the bolts and spending time and money replacing them and perhaps not...

Road racing or rally competition with the Jensen CV8 or 541 by jncohen40@hotmail.com
Has anyone information about any history of the Jensen CV8 in road racing or rally competition? It is such a fast car, yet I am not aware of any! Please respond if you do, with as much detail as possible. Whilst at it what about the Jensen 541 too? Just discovered, having searched, that Mr Richard Lovell-Butt entered his Jensen CV8 to race at Silverstone on Sat 20 Feb 99. But I have no

Hood Repairers? by Neil Cummins
The plastic rear quarter light on my double duck hood on my 1970 AH Sprite IV has split. Does anyone know of a reputable restorer that could insert a new plastic panel - I am sure I have previously seen an advert in the MG Owners Mag, but it is not in recent editions. Regards Neil

Ebay Adverts by richard.ingall
Hi everyone, hope you're all well. On-line auctions, or even adverts in general; what do you think of them? I'm doing some research into how people perceive on-line adverts (particularly Ebay), the trustworthiness of sellers, what sort of ad's appeal to you, that kind of stuff. What makes you choose one seller over another if they're both selling the same thing at the same price? What really...
