Removing rear-end bearing cap on a Spitfire engine? by
S1500
I've got the oil pan off(remind myself to turn the crankshaft next time, jeesh).
Got the 2 main bolts of it off, but it will not come out.
I can wiggle it forwards and backwards a bit, but any other way and it's on there
solid. Any tips on how to get it out?

Looking through old photos with the GF, we decided it was the prettiest car
we ever owned. Anybody know of a cheap one for sale? Project cars would be
ok.

Done it, bought a stag! by
Badger
Well, as per the subject line and after a lot of searching I've finally
found and bought a half-decent Triumph Stag at a reasonable price!
1973 (early, so tax-free), Manual with Overdrive, in Mimosa yellow (IMO, the
nicest colour they ever painted them in) and with the original 3.0 V8
engine.
It was apparently subjected to a major restoration in the 80's, with a lot
of new panels, and...

cooler wanted by
Jim Warren
Does anybody know where I can get a transmission cooler radiator? It is the
little radiator that sits between the grille and the engine radiator on a
2.5 Triumph and cools the auto box fluid.
Rimmers don't stock them. Can anyone suggest a source? Or has anyone
broken an automatic Triumph and put the transmission radiator on a shelf?
I am in Somerset.

Tyres: rim not sealing by
David Balfour
Just bought a set of alloy wheels from a scrapyard. They look good, no sings
of kerbing etc. Unfortunately, two of the included tyres won't hold any
air - I can hear it escaping from the outside of the rim. They were flat
when I got them, is there any trick to get the tyres to seat again?
I've had this trouble before on a Volvo 140 with steel wheels when the rims
rusted. A local tyre shop...

Vehicle Damage by
phv
Hi all
I am thinking of having a company called "CHIPS AWAY" do some minor cosmetic
work on my car, Mk 2 Jag. Anybody used them? I have heard marvellous claims
about what they can do, Can anybody give me a recommendation. They say
they only work on the chip/dent etc and DO NOT paint the whole panel. Been
quoted £60 .
Cheers

V8 Clutch Plate - how thick is it. by
Liam Healy
Hello All,
The V8 has had a good clean and is about to go back together. Looking
at the clutch plate tonight I wondered whether I should renew it but
can't tell if I need to.
How thick is a new one? and how worn can you let these things get ?
There seems to be about 5-8 mm on each side of mine.
While I'm on, is there anything by way of bushes etc I can easily renew
