Hi, I have a 1972 triumph spitfire 1300cc 4 speed. The problem is thus: When driving home The car stalled at a junction after I depressed the clutch pedal ie it shudderd to a halt. I selected neutral restarted the engine depressed the clutch pedal and attempted to put her into gear and she graunched and would not go into gear. There was no clutch. I thought it was just a case of unscrewing the fixing nut underneath the wing - this mirror has some sort of plastic tubing projecting down from the nut, which doesn't seem to move. The nut won't unscrew because of this tubing, and the mirror arm is sprung to the mount, so any force on that just "unsprings" it. can any one help me on how to remove this mirror from this very meagre...

I have two questions re the removal of the oil sending unit (located below the distributor on the side of the engine block) for a Spitfire 1500: 1) Is there a special tool required? 2) Do you need to remove all of the components on the side of the engine (e.g., distributor, air pump, fuel pump, etc.) to get a tool around the oil sending unit?

Does anyone have one of the combined oil pressure / water temperature guages as seen in midgets and, I believe, MGBs. Strictly no electricity involved in this one. (If you've seen it, you'll know what I mean).
