How to access Newsgroups if you are a Tiscali customer by Classic Car Man
If you create an additional account using 128.230.129.223 as a server you can access the newsgroups in read only mode - at least you know what the rest of the group are up to! THEN you can post your response via your Tiscali news server. The downside is that the reply will not attach itself to the thread, but it will start a new thread with whatever the original thread was

Big Mini by Roger
There is a claim in todays Independent that Raymond Baxter (who recently died) "drove a Mini with an Austin Healey 3000 engine in it." Baxter had been (among many other things) a successful rally driver so it would not be unlikely for him to have a hairy car, but how on earth could such a large cast iron lump be squeezed into a tiny mini and where would the gearbox have come from. -- Roger...

Brakes question - 67 Morris traveller by Gordon
Every time I get in the car to drive it, I have to make one push on the brake pedal to firm the brakes. Not a pump, just one push, as if the shoes are too far from the drum surface. (I've adjusted the brake shoes properly). Is this a symptom of oval drums?

Wanted: Good home for and Aging Cavalier V6 by Mike Roberts
A friend at work has a J reg 2.5Ltr V6 Cavalier. It is an Automatic and has recently had a new gear box. It has no tax or MOT and does need some TLC. It needs a new home or it will be off the the great scrap heap in the sky on the 1st October. He really would like to avoid scrapping it if possible and will take a nominal fee for it (to be discussed with him). If you are interested please drop...

Honda Z600 by RC.Workshop
Hi all. It's the first time I check this NG (I usually am on RC models NG's). A person here in Italy asked me for infos about his Honda Z600. He wants to know if it is worth selling it, and its value, and where he can find collectors interested. He bought the car here in Italy around 1972 and was the only owner. It is orange and shouldn't have too many kms on it. It has been always stored...

MoT woes by Richard Porter
I wonder is anyone else had this problem. I took my car for a prebooked MOT test which had to be cancelled for the sole reason that the make and model couldn't be found on the computer system. This is a car of which around 1,400 have been produced from 1965 to date in four countries. One of them completed the Le Mans 24 hour race and another holds four current UK speed records. But VOSA's...

Stags' Triumph by Flash
Driving home slowly through a high banked Devon lane this afternoon, and a stag jumps from an eight-foot high wooded bank ON to the front wing of my Falcon. http://digdilem.org/code/tmp/stag.jpg (Tuft of hair still caught in the headlamp) Considering the size of the thing (fully grown stag, about four feet to the shoulder - red deer?) I think the damage was remarkably light. A

Best group for vintage Rolls Royce by duncan@feste.plus.com
A friend of mine has just been GIVEN a fully working, roadworthy 1930 Roller! His father was a mechanic, and he is 'handy' but is going to need all sorts of help and advice on spares, repairs etc. First requirement is for a manual... Would this be the best place to start? or is there a n.g. devoted to either vintage or Rolls or both? Thanks for any advice.
