Bang by Dave Plowman (News)
Parked up the SD1 in town yesterday, and there was a slight bang when I closed the door and locked things. Sounded a bit like a plastic water bottle bursting. Thinking it might be in the boot, opened the hatch. Nothing. Closed the hatch and most of the window fell in... Strangely, the same happened to my brother last year with his BMW E28. In all my years driving I've only had one window...

hello by bentleybonnett
I'm a bit new to this, and I'm a girl... but....are there any REAL Bentley Boys out there who get up at 5am or earlier for rallies, fill the house with strange engine parts, grin from ear to ear when they discuss the building of their Pride and Joy, and actually drive the cars with the feeling of the wind in their hair, watering eyes and that wonderful feeling of being Out There. The Car, the...

getting bearing on input shaft: won't go further by british1500@gmail.com
Input shaft in question: '79 Spitfire w/ ovd. I tapped the new bearing + oil flinger onto the input shaft, keeping a close eye on the oil flinger(to keep straight), but it won't go any further. On the outer face of the bearing, the groove is cleared. But any further tapping won't make it go further on getting enough room to get the thrust washer in. Is the thrust washer 100% necessary? It seems...

Price guide... by JackH
I'm considering buying a 1972 Austin 1300 which is apparently in good shape rot wise, but would probably benefit from a blowover as the paint is a bit faded in places. Assuming its as solid as it would seem and drives ok, given it has only a months MOT left, what sort of ballpark figure I should be considering making as a reasonable offer for it? TIA

Bang by Dave Plowman (News)
It's fixed. Autoglass arrived early and installed what the fitter said was the last new one in the country. At a cost of 400 quid to my insurance company, but 'only' 60 to me. I'd guess they're profiteering - even Rimmer Bros only charge 175 for the new screens they have in stock. Unless a bronze one is actually twice the price of green or clear. -- *7up is good for you, signed snow white* ...

Bang by Dave Plowman (News)
I've still not got it sorted - the rear windscreen on the SD1. Autoglass said there isn't one available new so I set about trying to source a secondhand one. Ebay had one but in N Wales and collection only. There's a complete tailgate with no bids in Oxfordshire but it looks like green or clear rather than bronze glass to me. Rather non committal answer from the seller so I'll give it a...

SORN failed to register by Ian
Hi Folks, I took my DS off the road at the end of October and applied for a tax refund with a V14, on which I also declared SORN. I know they got it, because I have had the refund, but I have just had a letter from Continuous Licensing saying that the vehicle is neither taxed nor sorned and demanding forty quid plus the tax. Has anyone else had this experience? I am proposing just to send...
