Best place to sell a tired old Bently by
Betty Swollocks
I have '56 S1 which I've had for about 10 years.
I bought it as a basket case & had it made sound mechanically.
Then I sent it away to be repainted and they balls'd it up (were supposed to
put new wings on but they used filler, etc)
I lost intererest and it had stood now for the last few years. Paint peeling
etc, etc.

Imperial Size Copper Washers wanted by
Classic Car Man
Where in UK (North Cambs/South Lincs if possible) can I get hold of 9/16
(id) x 7/8 (od) copper washers to fit a banjo connector for a hydraulic
brake system?
I've tried everywhere I know (and lots I've never heard of)
Cheers

Where has everyone gone?? by
Dixie
Up to couple of years ago the UK rec.cars.classic newsgroup had numerous
regular contributors all with a much varied outlook on life and classic
cars.
The content of the news messages was very interesting and inspiring to
anyone with a classic car.
Where have these contributors moved onto?
I understand that more ISP providers have followed the Orange lead in

Brake master cylinder repair kit by
Classic Car Man
I'm looking for a replacement piston
http://www.mossmotors.com/SiteGraphics/Tech_PDFs/180-730.pdf (Type 1) for a
Lockheed brake master cylinder casting 25489/2 (or a complete unit) as I
want to replace the rubbers and there is no repair kit for my style piston
(Type 2). It's a 7/8" bore and I need a ring type primary seal.
Unless anyone can supply a repair kit (and/or piston)
Cheers

Spitfire Clutch question by
Douglas D. Raynor
I have a '72 Spitfire that I'm having clutch problems with. It may be that
the previous owner shortened the clutch slave push rod. Can someone tell me
the true overall length of the pushrod. Thanks

re;car registration by
Pam Cook
Well, I finally got to the local DVLA office about my car with half a reg
doc..and no way of transferring it to my name......(because of it being
disabled taxation class)
At first the lady stuck with 'You need to tax the vehicle' I was so
frustrated, that she didn't understand that this car is a project, and it
could be months before it is ready for a test..... and legally it needs to
be...

dry sump lubrication by
Helen
I have been offered a car with dry sump lubrication and I'm told that
the engine does not need a breather as all air is scavenged back to
the tank. I always thought engines had to breathe. Can anybody help?

Anyone looking for a Rover P6? by
Jim Warren
While out shopping on Friday, I noticed an ad in my local Post Office window
(in Bath). Someone is selling an L Reg (tax exempt) 3.5 P6. There is a
small photo, just showing the front through an open garage door, so I
couldn't tell much from it, but it looks from the chrome and paint that it
has been looked after (or prettied for the photo?)
I've got no connection with the seller, and I don't...

LdN overdrive: which gasket goes where? by
S1500
Here's the deal. I have 2 gaskets that are shaped exactly the same. They
have differing materials. One is "fiber", the other feels a bit more
like felt. They go around the brake ring of the Overdrive unit. But
which one goes where? I read somewhere the gaskets are not
interchangable. The original gaskets are long scraped off.

Insurance for cars off-road by
Richard Polhill
Hi,
There has been quite a lot of discussion on here about a requirement for cars
to be insured even when not on the road.
I have been unable to find any record of the actual legislation or proposed
legislation. As far as I can see it is not required for a vehicle to be
insured unless it is driven or parked on the public highway.
Can anyone point me to any resources that detail legislation...
