bmw 2002 by Mark Craft
check the brajes disengage, they could of seized by now, if need be string the shoes out of the drums then move it. change the oil/coolant in the engine, clean up earth points, put a fresh battery on, take all the plugs out, drop a little oil down the bores and turn it over by hand if all is ok try the starter, ensure there are no water leaks/serious oil leaks and make sure you get decent oil...

ISTR somebody in this group has a trailer for hire near Derby, but I can't remember who it is! Racing a Alfa 105 1600GT by TVS
Are there any good book or web sites detailing tuning the Alfa twin cam engine? I'm considering racing in the BARC championship and I've been offered a standard mid 70's Alfa 105 1600 GT. Unfortunately the body work is, not surprisingly, very poor but the car comes with a good engine and lot of spare parts. I also don't seem to be able to fine a supplier of Alfa parts, standard or modified, in...

Tax Exempt by Howard Rose
My 1964 Austin Mini hasn't been MoT'd or taxed since 1990, so the V5 states the tax class as "PLG". Is it possible to get this changed to "Historic" without the car being MoT'd or taxed? The car is in a million pieces at the moment, so an MoT is out of the question! Just wondered if it was possible to do... --

Can someone settle a question that's gnawed away at my subconscious for 30 years? Is a crankshaft damper of any benefit on an in-line A-series engine? They are highly recommended for transverse engines (eg Vizard).

What kind of Car - in a movie by root

The car is the one in which the female lead and the intending husband drive to her uncle's house. The car breaks down, on account of this girls innate ability to deactivate machinery. As they walk a policeman

Spitfire Upgrades by Fredster
Hi, My 1979 Spitfire recently died a death on the A322 - either the clutch or the gearbox has gone to the great scrapyard in the sky (sob). Seeing as it's got to go into the garage, I thought I might as well spend a bit of money (ok, a bit more money) on it and make some improvements. Other than general repairs and tuning, is there anything else that anyone can recommend that is worth...
