New Engine for 33 16v by Rev. Alfa Adam
In the light of the above post about 145 engines, (On alt.autos.alfa-romeo) does anyone know where I can get a reasonable engine for my 16v Alfa 33? Also, has anyone fitted a TS 2.0 engine to a 33 yet? Is it an adventure in engineering, a doddle or a no-go? Adam H

WTD:2CV Body Shell / complete spares car by Mike Pearson
Hello All, I stupidly lent my 2CV to someone, who then drove it into a barn wall. Won't go into details, but it's a lot of a mess. I've got everything I need to repair it - new chassis, floorpans, sill etc as I'd bought these for it anyway. Problem is the bodyshell is quite twisted, so I need a shell for it. Literally just that. Doors, windows, all OK. Anyone got one or know of one going...

Ok, under £500 classics. by Pete M
I'm in the process of flogging my old, faithful Golf GTi because I'm in the mood for something a bit older. I have a few problems.. I'll only have about £500 to spend, and I'd like something taxed and tested I'd like something fairly quick and preferably rear wheel drive but I'd like it to be fairly reliable and comfy as it'll be my only car I've owned and enjoyed the following and would like to...

Hi group Remember that bus I was restoring - http://www.webstersites.org/buspics/DSCF0028.JPG ? Well outside is nearly complete, now working on interior. Ive carpeted the interior walls over that 'o so seventies' fake wood veneer but am having trouble round the windows http://www.webstersites.org/buspics/DSCF0028.JPG http://www.webstersites.org/buspics/DSCF0027.JPG The carpet goes right up to the...

Dream Rides - Sat 16th Aug by Iain Miller
The next "Dream Rides" event is on this Sat 16th at Brooklands in Surrey (UK) for anyone who's interested. It'll run pretty much all day. This is thing run by the Sporting Bears Motor Club - you turn up & pay some cash & get taken around a temporary circuit in a supercar/classic car/Rally car (driven by the owner, not you!) - whatever you select from what's there - Vipers, Ferraris, Porches,...

New website for buying and selling classic car parts by William Moore
Hello! I am writing to let everyone know of a new website set up to sell new and used parts for Classic and Modern cars. I think that this could be particularly useful for the Classic car community because it will provide an efficient way of trading in otherwise difficult to get hold of parts. I feel sure that a lot of people will have parts hanging around in their garages that they might...

practical classic? by John Redman
I'm thinking of buying a Triumph Stag as a practical classic. I'm not overly bothered about it being original and thus was thinking of going for a rover engine conversion as it seems to knock down the price a bit. As I'm looking to use the car every day (and I do about 15k miles a year) I was thinking of getting an lpg conversion done on it.

An outbreak of Aston Martins. by PJML
Was there some sort of Aston Martin event in the south-west yesterday? I saw *three* such beasts going through Tidworth during the day - a rather nice-sounding BRG DB5, a couple of DBSes . I still think the 'six' sounds better than the V8.

gasket sealant on Weber carb intake manifold? by Spitfire 1500
I applied some RTV "gray" stuff, only to find out after it wasn't meant for gasoline-related stuff. I also struggled with the new studs I got from Spitbits, only to find they aren't the optimal length. One got threads stripped, so I improvised. I fired it up, and it works! I'll be damned the thing idles smoothly, even at under 900 rpms. I drove it around for 5 minutes and it's got serious...

bring it or leave it? by Pete W.
My question is, is it wiser to leave her on the continent and sell her there, or do I bring her here and sell her here? I had a LHD Jensen Healey and advertised it on Find-it: http://www.findit.co.uk/ and received quite a few enquiries from the continent. Selling in Europe can be awkward because of strict rules regarding originality and type-approval regulations, so if it is in original...
