W123 'Buyers Guide' by Timo Geusch
MrT was seen penning the following ode to ... whatever: My huge pile of mags is just that - a huge pile, and in no particular order! So, can anyone remember if any of the mags have done a buyers guide or restoration feature on the Mercedes Benz W123 range in the last year or so. Just so I know which magazine(s) I'm hunting for! Not English ones, no. I've got one in German floating about...

Paging Timo Geusch by SteveH
Timo Geusch wrote: SteveH was seen penning the following ode to ... whatever: You mentioned going to look at a Lancia Fulvia t'other day..... just found something more desireable..... Well, yeah, that also needed some TLC... Alfa 1750GTV Bertone - rebuilt engine and front suspension, but bodywork needs 'TLC'. 10 months MOT. £2950.

SU carb piston shake? by ajmac
Rather odd this little gem, I have a pair of hiff6 carbs on a TR6, the rear carb insists on vibrating when the throttle is at constant depression, I think it may be the dash pot springs are not man enough, the ones in it are from a Rover 3.5 V8. Why would the dash pot piston shake about and vibrate? Alastair

Driving while hatted by Samuel Clemens
I think I heard it said that the Dolomite Sprint is the only Sports Saloon you can drive whilst wearing a bowler hat. I think this refers to people of normal stature and wearing the bowler in the customary position, but the point about headroom is well made :-)

show a dog a traveller, it thinks its a stick and chases it by pork'n'stuffing
Following a collision with an errant alsatian on Sunday afternoon http://www.webstersites.org/buspics/Travcrash2.JPG the brown mark on the rear of the car is 'dog by-product'. perhaps it was a statement of taste? ;o)

Reg Nos (OT) by Roger Chapman
Sorry for raising an off topic subject but I thought someone here might know the answer to a registration number that puzzled me today. I was driving back from the Lake District when I came up behind what looked like a current right hand drive Fiesta. Nothing unremarkable about that but although the car showed no nationality plate the registration number was just a series of 5 digits and I was...

There was a company called 'ex-pressed steel' that might be able to help you. I think they were doing a lot of Ford stuff, and the geography sounds about right. I don't have any contact details but I would think a web search or one of the classic magazines might help. HTH Mike. "THuNK" wrote in message ...

Triumph 6 cyl engines by Chris Morriss

Triumph 6 cyl engines by William Davies
Willy Eckerslyke wrote in message ... Quick question: Is the Triumph 2000 Mk1 saloon engine the same as a Vitesse Mk2? Roughly speaking, Mk1 2000 matches the Vitesse 2L Mk1, Mk2 2000 matches the Vitesse 2L Mk2. I believe the engine has a slightly higher compression ratio in Vitesse applications, but there are so...
