Dad's Rover P5b Coupe by
Basil
Hi all,
Denmark online.
My (late) fathers P5b is still there in my workshop, gathering dust.
It has been begging, ever louder by the year, to get out to shine in
the sun once again. I did promise dad, back then in 93, that I would
get it running again.
I guess this post is part of making up my mind whether to keep
my promise.

Alternatively, if you are feeling adventerous, Bitumen Mastic mixed with
Diesel works a treat, and doesnt break the bank.
OK .. so you end up getting covered in it and look like a golliwog
afterwards, but whos counting that small factor.
It does the job and is damn effective !!

MK1 vitesse but never seen it on a MK 2 like mine and although i don't know
for sure if it's factory done or if it was done by the first owner, it does

Cost of a Rover P6 respray? by
Timo Geusch
Spent the morning looking at a few *ahem* choice examples of
P6dom. One of them actually takes my fancy to a certain extent, but
it's in bad need of a respray as someone subjected it to a crap
home-made jobbie.
Does anyone have a rough idea how much a respray (not concours, just
a simple, honest respray without taking out all the glass and stuff)
costs for one of these beasts? Also, does someone...

new tyres best go ? by
kokomoNOSPAMkid@hotmail.com
Eugenio Grapa wrote:
So here is a teaser - why should new tyres (if you buy only 2) go in the
back and not in the front ? Any good (or bad) explanations ?
Most of what I have been told is that if you buy two tyres, they should
go in the front. The reason I've heard is that new ones are less likely
to fail catastrophically and tyre failures are more likely to cause a
crash if on the front.

Dolomite sprint bits by

Any other readers of this group have redundant dolomite sprint bits
and pieces in their garage /loft? Body panels in particular of
interest being a late 70's leyland product!!!
Is there anything in the rumour that they changed their steel supplier
around 1977 to an eastern bloc company that used a lot of scrap in the
mix? I heard a story of a guy who went over a rover of that vintage
with a...
