He does not have a computer and I have volunteered to try and locate this item for him. There's a club for BSAs, they might be the best place to start. I think they're associated with the Daimler/Lanchester club - Google will find them. A fellow in the next road to me had one, technically quite interesting little cars - but we preferred Morgans :-) -- Cheers, Stan Barr stanb .at. dial .dot. pipex .dot. com (Remove any digits from the addresses when mailing me.) The car people always look down their noses at 3 wheelers and Morgans
especially. Could be cos they are so ****ed of with them overtaking and disappearing off into the distance. The 1990 Works Ford Sierra RS500 Cosworth that won the BTCC championship would, at the Mallory park round, have been only 0.6sec in front of the 1920's Morgan 3 wheeler that won the VMCC 3 wheeler championship. Given the Morgan was carrying a passenger I think the Morgan could beat the Ford. BTCC has gone downhill ever since so even more Vintage machines could take on the best they can offer now and win.. IIRC the Morgan three wheelers were forced to race in the bike class - as they were so far ahead of the car competition :-) Would I like one ... you bet ! |

I think he would be better off with the motorcycle clubs BSA or VMCC as the 'V' twin was derived from a motorcycle. There is a BSA club though, later BSAs were 4-cylinder water-cooled and some where 4 wheelers. -- Cheers, Stan Barr stanb .at. dial .dot. pipex .dot. com (Remove any digits from the addresses when mailing me.) Wonder if that was the one I saw see off a snarling pack of Bugattis and Alfas and a 24-litre Napier-Bentley hybrid years back? Seriously spectacular stuff. Still reckon the N-B (with about 550-bhp from a Napier Lion aero-engine) would have caught it eventually if the tyres had held out - of which there was no chance whatsoever! -- Andy Breen ~ Interplanetary Scintillation Research Group http://users.aber.ac.uk/azb/ Feng Shui: an ancient oriental art for extracting money from the gullible (Martin Sinclair) |

I've driven a BSA car - ordinary four door saloon with a 1200*cc (IIRC) sidevalve engine and pre-select box.
