Shogun Starting probs by
linger
Turns over and over in the morning before starting.
When it starts it kicks out a load of whitish smoke.
After the morning start it starts fine and has less smoke on startup.
I've charged the battery which made it better.
Its a 2.8 diesel and the problem first started in France.
My diagnosis is a) Flat battery (not enough to notice but enough not to
start it.)

FS: Series 1 Land Rovers x 13 (1948 - 1956) by
adam_c
Hi all,
A friend of mine (who doesn't have internet access) is finally parting with
his 20 year collection of vintage (in my opinion ancient!) Series 1 Land
Rovers.
At this stage, he is interested in fielding reasonable offers from
collectors/restorers, and these cars have been advertised around the world.
We are prepared to pack and ship them and all the parts, but the buyer will

Intermittent gear crunching problem (Shogun) by
Lee J. Moore
Sometimes, when I change gear, I feel (and hear) a slight crunch; almost
like the clutch wasn't depressed enough (when the pedal is right down to
the floor). It usually happens when entering 3rd or 4th. If I stop the
vehicle and start again, the problem has gone.
I had my mechanic take a look and he's ruled out any problem with the
clutch. It's such a problem to replicate - and therefore -...

Mike R
Hi,
I'm looking at buying one of the following. The main purpose is for towing,
needs to be 20000miles, £25K and a few years old.
Options:
Terrano II 3.0, Had a 2.7 TD years ago - but had problems with inside tyre
wear. Is this still a problem with the newer models?

Errr 6x6, 8x8, tracked? by
rnf2
I use a Honda 1998 TRX300FWW on my mums farm, and I've taken it up 45*
slopes and scoot around the bogs in the bottoms of the valleys. I use it for
work rather than fun, but it is good for carrying loads of stuff around and
unloaded is a great fun bike.
This is a 300cc permanent 4WD bike, the new 400cc automatics can cover the
same terrain, have far higher top speeds and can be used as either...

Jeep Cherokee by
Bill Holt
Asked on behalf of a son who has arrived home with his '97 Jeep
Cherokee. It's a 4-litre auto, and he does a lot of motorway towing.
There doesn't seem to be a Haynes manual about this year/model.
The dash has a radio with a front that refers to a CD changer, but we
can't find it or any reference in the handbook as to where it should be
located. Is this an aftermarket addition, or has the...
