Nissan X-Trail etc. by
Paul Hubbard
Gents.
I'm considering upgrading at some point this year into something a bit
larger. The current car does struggle when I am carrying large items
(often) but I still need a family car. Build quality on Land Rovers has
somewhat put me off and I am currently considering the following shortlist
of vehicles.
Nissan X Trail
Honda CRV

Frontera 92 question. by
MS
Hi!
I have almost bought a car of the subject.
Is that year model´s body and/or panels zinked?
What is the "default" rost corrosion treatment from factory?
Have any of you guys "tuned up" a 2,4i Frontera?
How and what cost? I merely need a little extra punch for towing
thow don´t want to decrease fuel mileage...

Jeep Events by
PJO
Anyone got any experience of Jeep Events.
I've just had the details for this years events and some of them look right
OK. Not badly prices either. I'm giving it serious thought but thought I'd
ask here before I booked.

BP ULTIMA DIESEL LESS MPG !! by
Alan Buttivant
I have a Landrover Freelander TD4 less then a year old. I have noticed that
my local BP service stn is selling Diesel Ultima which cost about 3 pence
per litre more than the regular diesel. I asked the benefits and was told
that it provides less pollution and gives much better performance. I decided
to test it in my vehicle.
Findings:-
No noticeable increase in performance, in fact I believe...

Just a quickie guys, anyone with a 91-97 Cherokee check you local
friendly Jeep dealer for Safety recall A05, Front Disc replacement free

Serpentine Belt - Grand Cherokee by

Having done 45,000 miles I reckon it is time to change the belt. Is
this something that should only be tackled by a pro?

towing and tyres advice please by
Ken Fraser
Hi
we've bought a second hand Jap import Trooper Irmscher 3.1td swb for towing
(waiting for new Ranger to be delivered in May), not off-roading. The
previous owner fitted really big tyres (265x75x16) to make it sit even
higher.
Will these tyres have any adverse impact on towing? or should I go back to
the standard size (245x70x16)?
Grateful for any advice.
Regards
Ken

Pajero Evo by
Rob
I know I probably couldn't afford one, but does anyone sell these in the
UK. The recent models that don't look like a car stuck on a pajero
chassis, not the older boxy type.

Any word on US versions of the diesel Jeep Liberty or diesel Land Rover Discovery? by
Exit

any word on this?
I'm not sure about the Jeep which uses the Mercedes turbo-diesel but you
won't see the Discovery diesel for a while. There are no plans to export the
current Disco with the TD5 unit to North America but they may send over the
all-new Discovery when it comes out later this year. It uses a...

1992 Frontera 2.3TD by
Steve Parry
Hi
The engine on my Frontera is quiet (relatively for a diesel) but at
2500rpm a sound starts which I think is the timing/cam chain (I had a
motorbike make a similar sound which was traced to a weak tensioner).
Is the timing chain tensioner on Frontera diesels adjustable? Or is it a
case of replacing it? Any other suggestions?

Kia Sorento - personal import? by
Spamfree!
Having lurked around this really useful group for
a while, I'm now seriously thinking of buying a
Kia Sorento.
Excellent value that it is, a new one (from
£18,000) is a bit too much; as the model's been
available for less than a year, even second-hand
vehicles (from £17,000) are still a bit more than
the bank manager would welcome.

Terrano or Maverick? by
Tim
I have been looking to buy my first 4x4 (second hand) and had settled on the
Nissan Terrano.
Whilst looking around for a reasonable SWB I have come across a lot more
Mavericks, especially petrol versions (everybody wants diesel). As the price
of the equivalent maverick seems to be cheaper. I was wondering the
following, and would appreciate advice from anyone owning a Maverick
1 Are they made by...
