SJ413 pulling problem by
Lurch
Anyone able to shed any light on this problem please?
I have a 413 used for light off roading and for carrying logs out of
woods. Every now and again I go on a longer run. When I do she
buzzes along quite happily perhaps for thirty miles or so then
suddenly begins to lose power until chugging to a halt on the hard
shoulder. At that point no amount of cranking will start her.
After ten minutes...

Freelander Roof Rails by
Gareth Watkins
Hi Folks
I'm after a set of roof rails (not the cross bars but the acutal rails) for
my new to me Freelander but I'm a tight git and I dont want to pay alot! I
see they go for about 150 quid upwards on ebay and my brother payed about
300 quid for his as an extra when he bought his from the main dealer.
So does anyone know where I can get a cheap set?
Many thanks
Gareth

Freelander viscous coupling by
Andy.Smalley
I MOT'd a mates Freelander last night and gave it
a quick check over as he was complaining that
if he puts it on full lock it feels like the brakes have
come on, I took this as transmission wind up
I check the viscous coupling and there is no
movement between the input and output side
I jacked one rear wheel up and tried to turn it
to no avail
as I understand it the coupling only 'locks' up
when...

The Big Man
I've got an L reg Frontera LWB and the indicators have stopped working
(including the hazards). Checked the fuse and it's OK so suspect a relay
switch, does anyone know where the indicator one is located? Hayes mentions
the relays but not which is which.

4x4 in snow by
Clive
When will 4x4 drivers realise that having a 4x4 does NOT increase their
braking performance in snow!!!
It's snowing over the top of ice in Cumbernauld at the moment.
One 4x4 was following me at a distance of about 10' he overtook me and ran
in the back of a taxi!
Two others looked like they had gone straight on at roundabouts.

Land Rover 90 removeable towbar UK by
Jay Hendry
Hi all
I've got a 90 which normally just has a NATO hitch on the rear crossmember.
I'm going to need to do some regular trailer towing more often and want an
easily removeable towbar. I can recall seeing something in a UK magazine
about 10 years ago where a guy used an agricultural trailer hitch to mount
the towing ball. The eye went over the NATO hitch and hung vertically and
he had two...

Front bumper for Suzuki Jimny by
Scott W.
Hi folks,
Anyone know a good place in the UK to get a metal box section or tube bumper
to replace the moulded plastic one on the Jimny?
Preferably one with recovery points and without bonnet protection bars (ie
without half a bull bar on top).
Cheers!

Freelander, petrol or diesel? by
Gareth Watkins
Hi folks
I currently run a 1997 Teranno 2.7tdi which is mostly being used for the
school run by the wife so it's costing a fortune to run! Hence, I'm going to
downsize it for something alot better for the economy but I still need
something capable of towing my 1400kg caravan, so the Freelander seems a
good option. Trouble is, I'm on a budget of only 8500 quid.
Looking through autotrader online...

Towing by
roddytoo
We get many enquiries about towing on here.
Most road / offroad vehicles are not designed for towing. Road cars are set
up by the manufacturers to meet a number of criteria for 'everyman',
including economy, accelleration etc. etc. They generally do not set up
their vehicles as tow vehicles, so anyone using them as such puts the
vehicle under undue stress. Just because Ford / Vauxhall etc rate a...
