I've been a very proud X-Trail owner since Sept 02. I have the diesel variant in Sport trim, full UK spec. I'm thinking of having the EMU chipped. Has anyone had this modification done to their car? I've been quoted a price of circa £500 with a "promise" of an additonal 30 horses under the bonnet. My main concern, should I proceed is to what extent this will invalidate my manufacturers warranty....

I am looking at getting my first 4*4 the reason being I do a lot of fishing and a lot of the places I fish have vehicle access but are not suitable for a road car. Basically rough gravel, steep hills and occasional fording of shallow rivers. I have been looking round and my budget will cover a Freelander, a Nissan X-Trail or a Honda CRV. Recently got a second generation VX Frontera Sport 2.2 petrol and it doesn't appear to have free wheeling hubs. I only need 4wd at the weekends to tow my dirtbike up farm tracks and so FWH would make a difference to my fuel bill. Anybody know if they aren't fitted cos of the 'shift on the fly' 4wd system? and would FWH's from the earlier Frontera fit? Is it advisable to fit them to this wagon?

1983 Bronco 351W I have replaced the coil, wires, distributer cap and rotor, and the spark plugs. Removed varible venturi carb and put on a older 2 barrel carb from a 91' f-350 with a 351W.
