Flat spot accelerating SJ413 by Lurch
Hello, anyone know a quick diagnosis / fix before I start diving into the dreaded Aisan carb? Symptom is a pause or flat spot nanoseconds after accelerating from idle, not mid range . . . This leads to warm trouser moments for the driver when pulling off into traffic streams. Otherwise this carb is better than most, it just has this disconcerting habit. Is there an obvious / common cause and...

SJ Alternator Advice by Robert
Hi All, Does anyone have a solution to this rather annoying problem? I have made some fairly substantial modifications to my SJ413, one of which is moving the Radiator and Fan to the rear of the vehicle, which greatly improves its wading ability (and made it totally awesome offroad). The problem however seems to be that every time I do go through any deep water, my alternator dies, and I have to...

Window Tints - Its a NAff 4x4 thing? by tommy
Good to see that the Police are going to get heavy on window tints If the front windscreen is illegal the Police will ensure you get a trailer to a local garage to resolve - If its just the front windows promise you drive to the garage to "remedy" the issue with your front windows down - despite the weather Despite all the anti-police rant / only an extra tax screaming from some folks Its...

Found! Rocking Horse Poo! - well . . . Pony carbs by Lurch
I may be close to mining a seam of Hyundai Pony carbs that are a direct fit on the four stud manifold mounting of the 413 / Samurai. Price off the scrappy who's got them will be between £25 and £45 depending on condition - he had a rather inflated idea of value but since I wanted one and then said had he any others at least it proves there is demand . . . For some reason he seems to have...

Hi All, I have a 1995 LWB Mitsibishi Pajero 3.5 V6. My wife was driving it this morning in 2WD (RWD) and almost lost it altogether goind around a roundabout in 2WD. She wasn't going fast and the road was dry. Now, i've noticed that it feels quite light at the rear when cornering and I've had it twitch a few times but my wife is now too scared to even drive it. Now, I 've seen mention that with...

definition of a proper off road vehicle ? by Charles Holder
take quite a lot of stick because I drive a Vitara. It's a 20. V6 5 Dr. I also have a 1600 3Dr. I drive across fields and down slops, carry equipment and people. But because it is a Vitara it is not seen as a proper OFF ROADER ! I certainly could not go where I do go in a conventional car. So what is the definition of a proper off road vehicle ?
