Thinking of Buying a SWB Landcruiser by Callum
I'm new here and haven't been before - I did a search but didn't really find what I was looking for. Hope you can help. I'm thinking of buying an older SWB Landcruiser 2.5TD for getting about in winter in. It's got a slight diesel leak coming from the injector side - haven't given it a good looking over yet. One of the tractor joints looks a bit rusty - anything I should be worried...

Landcruiser 4.2TD VX - Exhaust question... by Peter
I have been told that my car needs a new backbox - my choice is whether to go for a stainless steel jobbie or a standard one... I think a stainless is better from the viewpoint that I intend to keep the car a good few years - however I want to find a good price for it - anyone know where to get a good SS exhaust for a Landy? I live on the Wirral - so Liverpool/Chester would be ideal Peter

Vitara Exhaust by Eddie
I'm trying to get a new, pattern exhaust for my Vitara (1.6i JLX SE, 3-door, soft-top, 1994 M). Unfortunately, all the pattern exhausts I can find are for Spanish-built Vitaras, whereas mine appears to be a Japanese-built one, and the exhaust is slightly different - it's the same approximate shape, but the connecting pipes either side of the cat and the main silencer box are different...

Suzuki Jimny tow-bar? by Chris Morriss
Anyone else here with a towbar on their Jimny? I've got the official Suzuki one with the detachable forged tow ball and shaft. The towing bracket assembly is of very high quality but the ball is too far off the ground for most trailers. As it is a single forged ball and shaft then it can't be lowered. Does anyone know if this is a standard towing bracket assembly so that lower height tow...

More Infor on BioDiesel by Chris Phillipo
In article , /OMEGA says... In smaller 4 or six cylinder, in line, engines diesel makes more sense. Until you get to the V-6, gas has no real advantage. Now, when are we going to see Land Rover or Jeep sell a diesel SUV in the US? These gas prices are making SUVs too expensive to drive!

Landie petrol pipe by John Moppett
Have a Landie 110 and had a petrol leak from the short pipe from the tank, under the rear off side wheel arch. Hva ereplaced this, but now the other one is leaking. This one disappears behind the chassis member and appears to go to the top of the tank. Does this mean that the petrol tank will have to come out to replace it? TIA John

Landcruiser 2.4TDi Prado info by Graham (AAUG)
Hi, Having bought a '92 Prado auto diesel jap import recently can anyone point me in the direction of a manual or data for this vehicle? Would I need to buy a combination of manuals e.g. Hilux? I really need to know about things like what gearbox/transmission oils I'd need to use. Is there a group for this vehicle? Thanks for your time, Graham --

opening the Jimny bonnet by perkal
Hi all, I recently bought a Suzuki Jimny (wide). Before buying, the saleman showed me the engine by opening the front bonnet. After bringing home, I'm really having a hard time finding the switch or lever to open it. I know this sounds silly, but I can't find it anywhere within reach to the drivers seat. Thanks, perkal

5th Gear 4x4 review by moog
Much as I hate to critisize the lovely Vicki-Butler Henderson I must say that this weeks feature on the best family 4x4 for £20K was total rubbish. Initially the programme looked like interesting viewing the contenders were introduced as follows. Honda CRV SE Sport Hyundai Santa Fe CDX 3(V6) Jeep Cherokee 2.4

Spray painting by REMUS
I want to either get a gloss or if i'm feeling brave a matt black finish, I was wondering what the most cost efficient types of paint there are and their prices per litre. I already have a friend who has access to a high grade spray system so I just really need to know what the average prices are before I start inquiring at specialists so I can recognise a good price. Cheers!

Hybrids high mileage HYPE. The 19-year-old EPA tests for city and highway mileage actually gauge vehicle emissions and use that data to derive an estimated fuel-efficiency rating. The EPA tests pre-production vehicles in a lab to simulate vehicle starts and stops on crowded city streets and open road conditions. According to the EPA website, "The tests measure the waste substances emitted from...
