Second World London: Blind Iraqi caught driving car with banned driver by landnotloans@hotmail.com
A blind Iraqi who lost his eyes in a bomb blast was caught driving a car while receiving instructions on steering and braking from a banned driver, a court heard today. Omed Aziz, who denies dangerous driving, reached speeds of up to 35mph on a half-mile route through Oldbury, West Midlands, in April. Warley magistrates' court was told that Aziz - who also suffers from leg tremors and is...

Vauxhall Frontera - can you help please? by Incense Man
I've just acquired a 1993 K-reg Frontera 2.4i, and I have a couple of questions which you might be able to help me out with. 1) Is there a manual release mechanism for the tailgate? The switch on the dash doesn't work (by the way, any ideas where the problem might lie?) and I can't see any other way to open the thing! I can open the glass, but not the lower part of the door... 2) Can anyone tell...

Hi all just a quick note to all who use veg oil in their diesel motor. please make sure you register with the Customs and excise folk as I had a near miss a few months ago. VoSA pulled me over and asked for the certificate for running on veg oil. ...a trick question......you dont get a certificate to run on veg oil, you get a monthly form to register how much you have used and you pay 47.1p per...

Dueller 688 & 689 by Edgar Iredale
Does anyone know if Bridgestone Dueller 688 and 689 tyres can be mixed safely on a Vitara V620? The tread patterns are different but size, load, speed, M+S etc seem to be the same. Edgar

Brake warning light by Steve Loft
What I assume is the brake warning light (I have no owner's manual - I do know it's not the handbrake light) has come on, on my 1995 Ford Maverick. The brake fluid reservoir is full, so what else could it be? It's just passed an MOT, so I assume the brake pads are all OK (but I will check), and I don't think it has sensors for those anyway. Learning To Drive, And Tips On Arriving Safely by Car tips
by: George Gabriel Parents find it hard teaching their kids how to drive. Also, a lot of parents cannot afford to put money out for driving lessons, so they have no choice, but to teach their kids how to drive. Sometimes it's hard for the friend or family member to teach a new driver, because of the lack of patience. Most people should refrain from yelling at their new student. Driving lessons...

How much is an X-reg Jimny worth? by Mike P
Hi I've been offered a Hardtop Jimny, 2001 X reg, 30k, good condition with FSH for £1800. It's been used off road a little but as it's my mum's and she's had it from new, I know it's not suffered too much abuse. Is it worth £1800? I don't really want the car, but I might know someone who does, maybe for more than that ;-) Cheers

A woman's guide to car tires.. by Car tips
Women certainly are not helpless. But sometimes we are a little overwhelmed working a 40-hour week, taking care of the children, cooking, cleaning, and doing laundry. The car is just another added burden when there isn't a man around to tinker with it. For the woman who finds herself in this situation, this is a short primer on routine tire care that will extend the life of your tires and...

Swap - Your Wrangler Jeep for my 2002 Daihatsu YRV by Adam H
I'm looking for a good manual Jeep Wrangler 2.5l YJ in the south or east midlands. Ideally it won't have been off-road much, will have a good soft roof and won't be modified. I am offering a swap for my 2002 Daihatsu YRV premium - red, 1300cc VVT engine with less than 35k miles, A/C, ABS, glass panel roof, service history in excellent condition - this car usually gives around 45mpg. (Different...

Rav 4 tinted windows by RJ
I have just had Autoglass replace the front windscreen of my 2001 Rav4 VX. The new screen does not look tinted at all, although Autoglass claim it has a green tint. The other windows are clearly tinted although not what I understand is called privacy glass. Has there been a change in the tint of the front windscreen on the Rav and should it appear as tinted as it did previously. Thanks,

x-trail turbo problems by Larry Shaw
Beware, x-trails have a prolem with ceramic seals on the turbo (136bhp diesel thingy ones). Nissan have a three week back order on these and you get a service exchange one even then........ Nissan don't answer emails.... the colour wipes off the plastic wheel well cover leaving white plastic (I guess it's just sprayed with acrylic paint)..... Oh right, I forgot - nearly done 8000 miles before...
