I thought it a bit spurious, but couldn't think how anyone could come up
with something as bizarre, without there being a tiny bit of truth in it.


I think I'll go with a quote from Patrick Head who was part of the
design team for the 6R4:

Absolutely nothing to do with the Renault / Volvo engine.

Forgot to add..... the 6R4 was fairly unusual in the world of Group B
rally cars in that it _wasn't_ turbo or supercharged.
