I had a 2000 W 306 and it was a real pile of crap. FWIW, I reckon £6K ought to be enough for a 51 reg 306 (Hdi at that age?). Nice cars to drive, but they really are shedlike in construction and if you are thinking about the Golf, just go for it  Richard -- Richard . Apples of various varieties.
