I remember Grimly Curmudgeon saying something like: Found a torrent of the Australian BroadCorpo 2005 re-run of the event, which was probably the closest in spirit and size to the original event. http://isohunt.com/torrent_details/51404194/peking+to+paris?tab=summary --

They upped their game for the second episode. I enjoyed that as much as I enjoy an average-quality British Top Gear. Now that's an achievement. How predictable that they never settled the Ford vs Holden debate. The new Falcon looks a bit er, whale like from the side doesn't it! Long may big engined Aussie muscle cars (and their ute equivalents) continue. The first one was worse than the most...

Silver/White/Gold/Red cars with black and dark grey leather. Black/Navy/Grey cars with cream/beige/tan/white leather. Why is it so difficult to find a nice black car with nice black leather? The closest I've found where grey leather in the dark grey Lex, and Black leather in the dark green Saab, you rarely find sexy black on black anywhere. -- Carl Robson Get cashback on your purchases

Hi Folks, It looks as if I'll have the V70 in my care for a while, and it's servicing time, so it looks a if I need to catch up with the century and get myself an OBDII scanner. Anyone got any recommendations or warnings? Would a thirty quid one from eBay (200261153084) be OK? A twenty quid one (270285521482)? Ian

A long time ago I seem to recall reading an article which stated that LPG took far more energy to refine, transport and store as a useable vehicle fuel than petrol or diesel. Coupled with it's lower energy density than petrol or diesel which can result in a higher comparable fuel consumption, the article indicated that although using LPG improved air quality it actually used more fossil fuel...

I was following a tarted up hatchback the other day and it was producing the weirdest exhaust smells. Definitely not diesel and I don't think it was down to a knackered cat. It smelt exotic & aromatic and made me wonder if someone was running their car on some sort of illicit petrol substitute (not that I know of any) or at least pepped their fuel up with something exotic. Not much of...

To save a bit of money on fuel, I have bought an old Cleo Diesel. I have heard people say these may be run on a wide range of fuels, but it depends on what fuel pump you have? How can I tell? What fuels can I use? Someone said something about fuel oil, that seems a little unlikely but very cheap and convenient if true. The car was very cheap, so I am not too worried about any damage I may do...

Not all the time necessarily but in various different automatics that I've driven, if reverse is selected there is usually a perceptable "thunk" through the drive train. I did wonder whether it was just due to "slack" (forgotten technical term for the moment) being taken up but it never seem to happen when selecting Drive. I'm possibly looking to change cars at some point in the future. I'm probably interested in an estate as sometimes I have to carry large amounts of Stuff (like a sideboard). But I don't do it that often, so I want something that's reasonably fuel efficient when there's just me and some fresh air in it. (Hiring a bigger vehicle when necessary isn't a sensible option).
