Hello All We need a new car and at the local Ford Dealers we saw a June 2006 Mondeo Edge 2.0 Petrol for £5995, it has a full service history - problem is that it has racked up over 42000 miles in a little over a year. The dealers computer showed that they aquired the vehicle in September last year (although he tried to imply that that was a typo) so its been on their books over a year...

Hi I have a 1987 5 Series BMW that is in good condition (despite 152,000 miles) appart from the dash board that has three front to back deep splits - sun damage (?) What would be the best way to repair, or should I think about, if I can find one, a replacement ? Regards Kevin

I've been looking through MoneySavingExpert and moneysupermarket.com for cheap breakdown and recovery cover for my 1997 Ford Probe. I don't do many miles but I drive 200 motorway miles round trip every few months to see my friend. So I need the "carry your car to destination" most of all. Hi, I have a perennial problem at MoT time with unbalanced brakes on my MGA. They are drums all round. I have tried freeing (even replacing) all the brake cylinders, and also fine tuning the adjustment on the shoes (I know that it shouldn't make any difference with hydraulics). Are there any other tricks that I could try to sort this out properly. thanks

Any recommendations for a 'hard as diamonds' polish ? I'm thinking of something like you used to see advertised late at night on the old analogue satellite shopping channels ten years ago, where they used to set fire to the car bonnet that was treated with it ... :-) I don't particularly need some effortless 'spray it on and look the other way for 10 seconds for a perfect finish' type...

The cheap £5 phone holder for my car was great for the HTC Trinity because the power connector for the car charger was at the bottom. On the Samsung Omnia it is on the lower left side, so I had to cut a small slot to take the larger Samsung connector. Hired a mini-bus yesterday to take my son and some of his friends to Snowdome in Tamworth for his birthday. Mini-bus we had from these people was a complete shed. Never hired a vehicle in such a bad state or repair. Battery flat twice. Took ages to jump start it - we missed our first booking at snowdome. Cost me £40 to pay again. Then had to jump start it again to come home.

Halfords are selling 40 quid R134a refill packs - basically an aerosol with an in-line pressure gauge and some basic instructions. Is such self-servicing advisable? I have a few really basic questions... I have a generic set of axle stands (from Screwfix) and a generic trolley jack (from Aldi).
