After thinking about getting rid of it for a diseasel boremobile thought **** it why not.. Removed all Three cats and replaced with 1 Prodrive sports cat (From STi PPP) and two decat pipes. I accidentally used some chrome polish on my car, not realizing it wasn't regular car polish. Can this do anything to the car's paint or is it harmless? Thanks.

Blimey was it ****ing down - we extended the lunch break simply because we would've needed an outboard motor to get around the circuit. Other than that, cracking circuit for a slower car like my MX5, learned plenty of stuff (it was more of a track school rather than a trackday) including the important information that MX5s are crap tools for tending the lawn. Obviously, that was shortly after...

I have a 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GS rag-top convertible and the roof is leaking. I have a tarp on it when it's parked and I try not to drive it in the rain. How much might it cost to fix this leak? Assume it's just the seal, and the whole roof does not need replacing? Assume the whole roof needs replacing?

Foglight and associated are being replaced finally, and I have an Enterprise rental car for the next few days - an 08 plate black Fiesta Zetec. It's way not as nice as the Clio inside, it's very bland and boring and has a couple of annoying intermittent rattles as well. It all looks a lot cheaper than mine, and the glovebox and stuff feels a lot less well screwed together as well. So, I...

Hi I have a 2001 Corsa C which has a problwm with its intemittent wipe action. When you try to set it for intermittent, the wipers stop half-way across the windscreen. The auto park action also fails when in normal and fast wipe settings. I've replaced the motor and checked the linkage, which both seem fine. Anyone have an idea as to what could be causing the problem?

Volvo UK phoned me today to organise a test of an S80. They've taken details about the issues in Cardiff, and got the dealer in Abergavenny to call me. Hi all, having just swapped an automatic for a manual, I now have gears and a tachometer as controllable variables in my driving. So.... for instance, given there's an obvious upper range to be avoided (as...

The M5 needs a new clutch, as it's starting to slip - not that bad yet but it is noticable. After 125000 miles, it probably needs a flywheel as well. I'm not in a position to find the 350 quid + labour for a few months. Question is, apart from driveability suffering, can I do any permanent damage by continuing to use the worn clutch? Can anything go pop and make me wish I'd done it sooner and...

I belong to the school that believes if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is. After visiting a few websites of Co's selling information on how one can make and fit the HHO system yourself, I'm still not convinced, despite all the 'apparent' evidence that it does work. One report claimed only 4oz of water was consumed on a 100 mile trip in a car.

Apologies to those who also read ukrm... I bought a 335d coupe back in late Jan and whilst the car is great to drive, I find the sat nav and the associated voice input control/ feedback dreadful. In my previous motors (without satnav) I have used a TomTom, which I love; I would have thought that TomTom would be used as a benchmark by just about every other sat nav designer. What a complete waste of time. Arranged with Volvo yesterday to have tests of the S60 and S80 D5 autos. Got there this morning at the arranged time, staff rolled up late and dealer principal told me that he'd sold the only S80 he had and that the only S60 available was a 2.0T manual. It was apparently too much hassle to get the S60 D5 demonstrator out of the showroom unless I was buying today.

I've been to the nearest halfway flat road around here and done both ways figures with a Race Technology AC22. 0-60 is down to a smidge under 11 seconds (VS 12.4 for a standard one according to Parkers) and 50-70 is down to just under 6.5 seconds. I wish I'd had a chance to do the figures on my own car before mapping it, just to see how much of a difference it's made on this car.
