At some time in the past my classic has been resprayed and finished with a clear lacquer coat. I have no experience working with this. Manged to break the casting of the MIL's 1.3 M Plate escorts alternator while trying to change the belt (don't ask, I was being a little heavy handed) Lower left side mounting and just less than a1/3rd of the casting has come away. I intend doing the floor with floor paint but after googling "Floor Paint" I find that the majority of manufacturers don't recommend using paint on a power floated floor without etching it first. Friend has called me this morning, his Ka is overheating. His local garage reckons that it's the heater valve that's seized causing it. Is this possible? The rad is only getting slightly warm.
