I've had an annoying electrical problem on my Golf Mk IV TDI's driver
door
for a while.

The switch is within the lock mechanism and they're known for going wrong.
The front passenger door one went on our Bora. a replacement lock was £60
but some people have had good results just cleaning the switch.

Cheers Dave,

I've decided to bite the bullet (visit the Building Society) and pay the
dealer to fix it.

While they are in the door, get them to replace the window regulator clips
as well. These are another common failure on the mk4 golf range.

Thanks for that, its an excellent point, but this problem occured back in
the cold weather and has now been done.

All the best,
Angus Manwaring. (for e-mail remove ANTISPEM)
