Default Micronet Showroom & LHD Car Company

Fell right into the trap last October and ordered two LHD VW Passats from
LHD Car Company.Paid £5.8k in deposits,heard nothing for 5 weeks.Then
e-mail requested the balances as delivery was imminent. All too quick and
good to be true.A Google search told me all I needed,my heart sank!Rang
Richard Loach the next day and told him that I could only carry on with
the deal if he'd accept a banker's draft on delivery.'No,those aren't the
terms,' he said,'you'll have to cancel otherwise'.He then attempted the
sweet talk but I cut him short and cancelled the next day by recorded
delivery and requested the return of my deposit. After 3 further recorded
letters,no response.I was on the verge of County Court Action and had
written to 'Watchdog'and the Daily Mirror's 'Penman & Greenwood
Investigate',when Michael Greenwood of the latter rang me at work.'I've
just spoken to a Richard Loach and there is a cheque in the post'.I was
ecstatic and the cheque cleared yesterday!I've got the bulk of it all back
except the cancellation fees and was tempted to pursue Loach through the
Small Claims Court for the rest.My wife says,'No.We've learned a hard
lesson,let it pass,move on.'As always she's right.I've had a very lucky
escape.Nottingham Trading Standards and the Office of Fair Trading have
also contacted me for full details,so the net is closing.
How are they getting away with it? I'm no lawyer but the whole Micronet
scam is clearly a conspiracy to defraud and their employees must know
what's going on and are happy to collude in it!
I won't hear a word said against the press, sometimes I think they are the
only protection we have in thi country against crooks, politicians and
pompous bureacrats.
