Might be worth picking up the right oil for the Golf depending on what
he uses in the Jag semis? Fully? Could be a bit thin now for an older
golf. The official Quantum is cheap enough from the dealers and even
cheaper from GSF etc. A reasonably garage should have a proper guage
they can plug in the oil sensor position to check what pressure the pump
is giving to eliminate pump or switch....

The oil was 10w40. The oil my dad took out was 10w40 Quantum...

Ah ok should be ok then, just checking that you hadn't put in thin mobil
1 in something used to a thicker multigrade.
