VW screenwash solution
I work for VW group and can confirm that the main problem is with the
newer fan type washer jets, as JonB says they do tend to crystallise and
block the jets.
This is s much bigger problem with heated jets.
You can add a little methylated spirit to the washer bottle to help, but
is best to use the proper stuff.
Hope this is of some help.
PS, Don't use washing up liquid as people used to do years ago

I wanted to get some screenwash (green) solution, In the past I am lead to
believe the 99 onwards VW use some 'thinner' solution that does not clog
the
jets, anyways VW is shut today, are there any alternative brands to use?
I've always used bog standard stuff. IMO the only thing that's going to clog
the jets is mould if the water bottle's been filled with plain water at some
point.
Have you seen how some anti-freeze re-crytalizes? Don't use em for a
couple of months and you'll see in the pipes [1] Bog standard water is
better than some solutions.
At this time of year you'll probably be fine though, you'll get through
it quicker than you can put it in.
[1] Took me hours to sort mine out the car had been doing 4000 miles a
year, the fronts weren't so bad, but it would have probably worked out
quicker to replace the pipe to the back than clean it out.
