Do you have any idea how the economy stuff works?

The economy gauge on my Mk1 has never worked to my knowledge, and the MFA
gives only 12/14 mpg average, although I've done several tank topping
exercises that indicated a good 30mpg!

I understand it's something to do with vacuum and there is a plastic pipe
that goes from the inlet manifold thorugh the bulkhead - can that get block
ed or anything?
